| Interflex was established as a Pennsylvania Corporation in February 2000 as a provider of custom Internet technology solutions. Later that year, Interflex began working with International Home Foods(IHF) to develop a web site for school foodservice, IHF was sold to ConAgra and Interflex was tasked to develop a solution that would streamline their bidding process and general communications with foodservice brokers in the institutional foodservice market. Through the development of this solution, Interflex realized the institutional food service market was underserved by technology and services and began planning and developing a suite of products with a specific focus on foodservice bidding.
The company’s core business strategy transitioned from custom Internet solutions development in a broad market, to a narrow focus on foodservice bidding technology and services in the institutional market.
We currently serve over 170 manufacturing clients and 150 brokerage offices.
The company began creating a database of foodservice information in 2004. In the first year, we had data for the top 100 public school districts (non-managed) in the country. We now track over 700 school districts and cooperatives nationwide. This makes up for approximately 50% of the total sales volume into the channel. We have also created a standardized core of data that allows us to use this information in multiple products for multiple trading partners. |
